Jörg Köppl lebt und arbeitet als freischaffender Künstler und Komponist in Zürich. Er konzipiert experimentelle Radio- und Soundprojekte, die an Festivals, wie der Ars Electronica, Artprospect (St. Petersburg) und Bienal de Sao Paulo oder in eigener Regie (Zürich und Kairo ) aufgeführt wurden. Mit Peter Zacek verbindet ihn eine langjährige Zusammenarbeit im Performanceduo koeppl-zacek , das die physischen und die sozialen Realitäten des Körpers untersuchte. Jörg Köppl initiierte und leitete die vom Schweizerischen Nationalfonds geförderten Forschungsprojekte NOW1 und 2, die sich mit der auditiven Zeitwahrnehmung beschäftigten. 2011 gründete Jörg Köppl das ensemble metanoia das aktuelle Strömungen aus der komponierten, improvisierten und elektronischen Musik aufnimmt. Für seine Musiktheaterproduktionen mit Rollstuhlfahrenden erhielt er 2019 den ”Anerkennungspreis für kulturelle Teilhabe” des Kantons Zürich.

Jörg Köppl lives and works as artist and composer in Zurich. He creates experimental radio and sound projects that have been performed at festivals such as Ars Electronica, Artprospect (St. Petersburg) and Bienal de Sao Paulo or out of his own initiative (Zurich and Cairo ). He has been working with Peter Zacek for many years in the performance duo koeppl-zacek , which examines the physical and social realities of the body. Jörg Köppl initiated and led the NOW research projects funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation, which dealt with the auditory perception of time. In 2011, Jörg Köppl founded the ensemble metanoia , which takes up current trends in composed, improvised and electronic music. In 2019, he received the "Recognition Award for Cultural Participation" from the Canton of Zurich for his music theater productions with wheelchair users.
